Sri krishna Committee Report comes out with six options

Justice Srikrishna Committee Report ...
Sri Krishna Committee Report on Telangana Issue is Avaialble Now at http://mha.nic.in
This Report Consists of Two parts
Mr. Chidambaram has convened a meeting of the eight recognised political parties of the State here on Thursday to share the report with them and elicit their views. However, the Telangana Rashtra Samiti, the BJP and the Telugu Desam Party have decided to boycott the meeting.
The committee, headed by the former Supreme Court judge, Justice B.N. Srikrishna, is believed not to have equivocally recommended any particular option but gave views — with the pros and cons along with the historical background — in each of the six options.
The suggestions include keeping Andhra Pradesh in the present form, forming a separate Telangana, and making Hyderabad a Union Territory, the sources said. An extensive examination of the socio-economic factors in all regions of the State led the committee to conclude that there was no material basis for treating only the Telangana districts as “backward,” the sources noted. The panel was appointed by the Centre on February 3 last year and it submitted an 800-page two-volume report to Union Home Minister P. Chidambaram on December 30.
The report is likely to be uploaded in the government's website at 11.30 a.m. after the copies are given to the parties.

Appsc relesed Group 1 2010 results

Appsc will announce mains shortly....
10500 candidates selected for the 210 post, Appsc announce prelims qualified list for main exam. Results list in manabadi.com website.
APPSC Group-I Qualified Candidates for main Examination 2010 list:

50% marks in Inter subjects mandatory From this year for AP-EAMCET 2011

From this 2011 50% marks in Intermediate in Maths, Physics and Chemistry to be eligible for admission to engineering colleges. Students from SC and ST should get at least 40%. The new norm may prove disastrous for Engineering colleges as nearly 80,000 students who qualified in Eamcet last year did not secure 50% marks in Inter.
But from next year, those who do no secure 50 per cent marks will not be able to pursue Engineering courses resulting in thousands of seats remaining vacant. The requirement of 50% in Inter was applicable only to Eamcet medical stream students in accordance with the directions of the Medical Council of India two years ago.
The new norm, that is meant to improve standards in professional education, will be incorporated in the Eamcet notification set to be issued in the first week of February.
This follows the decision of the AICTE to increase the qualifying marks from 35% to 50% in 10+2 exams to improve the standards in Engineering.

The Srikrishna Committee Report for Telangana 2011

The Srikrishna Committee report on the Telangana / Andhra Pradesh issue has finally been released. At the all-party meet held in New Delhi today, Union home minister P Chidambaram discussed the contents of the 800-page report.
The Srikrishna Committee favours keeping the state united (point 1). The following are the 6 options (in decreasing order of priority - so point 1 is most preferred) in the Srikrishna Committee report, for which state has been waiting for with bated breath:

1. Maintaining the current united status, and creating 3 separate boards for the development (for Education, Irrigation and General Development) of backward districts in Telangana

2. Dividing Andhra Pradesh into 2 parts, Telangana and Seemandhra (which is basically reverting to the pre-1956 status), with Hyderabad as a Union Territory, and the 2 states developing their own capitals in due course

3. Club Rayalaseema and Telangana into a state called "RayalaTelangana", of which Hyderabad will be an integral part - Coastal Andhra to be separate state

4. Dividing Andhra Pradesh into 2 parts, Telangana and Seemandhra, and clubbing Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy, Mahabubnagar and Nalgonda into a Union Territory, and making it the joint capital of the 2 states above (the clubbing is to ensure routes into both Rayalaseema and Andhra from the capital)

5. Dividing Andhra Pradesh into 2 parts, Telangana and Seemandhra, with Hyderabad as capital of Telangana, and Seemandhra having new capital

6. Retain things the way they are, with a statutory Telangana Regional Council being created for socio-economic development and political empowerment of Telangana

3 main parties - TRS, BJP and TDP - skipped the meeting, stating that they will settle for nothing less than a separate Telangana state.
