About National Board of Examinations (NBE)

National Board of Examinations (NBE) is an autonomous body under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. Established in 1975, the prime objective of the Board is to conduct postgraduate courses of high and uniform standard in various disciplines of modern medicine and allied sciences on an all-India basis, leading to the award of Diplomate of National Board (DNB). The emphasis is on professional ability and practical application of sound theoretical knowledge in the practice of the specialty a candidate is certified in.
